One of the most exciting things about the 2018 model year, in our opinion, is the redesign of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT. We’ve already covered some of the broader information regarding the Elantra GT, like its pricing and highlighted changes, but we thought we’d dive a little more specifically into some of the vehicle’s performance specs & tech features. Performance is obviously important in a vehicle with the GT designation, and technologies are always an exciting aspect of vehicles in today’s market.

“The new Elantra GT brings more to the North American shores for the 2018 model year. More space and features inside. More aggression and European flair outside. And more options under the hood. I’m particularly excited to showcase the GT Sport, a true hot hatch.”
– Scott Margason, Director of Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America
As you might’ve learned from previous blogs on the topic, the Elantra GT has two different engine options. The first is a 2.0L 4-cylinder capable of 161 horsepower alongside 150 pound-feet of torque. It offers a respectable amount of power for the standard model, but true performance junkies will prefer the 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder. It doles out 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
The Elantra GT is packed with technological features, so we’ll just highlight a few of our favorites. The display audio screen in a vehicle is one of the most important aspects of any automobile. The Elantra GT comes with a standard 8” screen that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The cabin also offers dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging and Blue Link heated features. Additionally, if you have Amazon Alexa, you’ll be able to use her to start your vehicle remotely via Blue Link.
