The U.S. News & World Report is one of the most reputable news sources for any industry, and the automotive industry is certainly one of them. The publication often puts together different U.S. News Best Cars rankings, and most recently it announced its Best Used Cars for Teens lists. This is a series of lists separated into price points, and both the 2019 Hyundai Accent and Santa Fe earned their way onto these lists. Plus, the 2016 Hyundai Tucson earned a recognition of its own!
“The Accent, Santa Fe and Tucson each have strong safety and reliability ratings, as well as some cutting-edge advance(d) driver assistance systems. Hyundai’s BlueLink smartphone app on the Accent and Santa Fe is an especially smart feature for parents of teen drivers, as it allows them to monitor some of what their teens do behind the wheel.”

Best New Cars for Teens Under $20k
The Under $20k list is perhaps the most viable for teenage drivers, as they’re the most affordable new vehicles available. The 2019 Hyundai Accent made it onto this list thanks in large part to its safety ratings and for being packed with tech such as Forward Collision-avoidance Assist.
Best New Cars for Teens $30k to $35k
The $30k to $35k list won’t be for all families, but the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is among the vehicles listed if you’re a family that’s looking in this price point. It got there thanks to its wide range of driver-assistive safety features from SmartSense and more, plus its IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation.
Best Used Cars for Teens, Small SUVs
Finally, even the three-year-old 2016 Hyundai Tucson got recognized as one of the best used cars for teenagers. Although it doesn’t have all of the SmartSense features its modern counterpart does, it had early assistance tech like Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Lane Departure Warning System.
