Yesterday we touched on the unveiling of the 2019 Hyundai Veloster, but what we didn’t get a chance to dive into was the confirmation of rumors that the Veloster N would be the first N Division vehicle available in the United States. Well, it’s now official, as Hyundai announced at the North American International Auto Show this week before unveiling the beautiful, high-performance vehicle ahead of its release date in Q4 2018.

“Veloster N takes Hyundai to a new level of purchase consideration for true driving enthusiasts in the U.S. market. The Veloster N is another example of Hyundai Motor’s capabilities, creating an exciting sports car with thrilling dynamics combined with a compelling affordability equation as key to the N high-performance concept.”

Performance Specs & Features
Beneath the hood of the Veloster N is a larger engine than in the regular, all-new Veloster. It’s a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of doling out up to 275 horsepower alongside 260 pound-feet of torque. As for the transmission, it’s equipped with a 6-speed manual featuring downshift rev-matching, close-ratio, and short-throw capabilities.
But the engine and transmission aren’t the only features upgraded in the Veloster N to enhance performance. Its suspension and tuning are enhanced, it features multi-mode, high-flow sport exhaust, and oversized performance-oriented brake rotors. We’re only beginning to scratch the surface, too.
Of course, there are other changes not necessarily focused on enhancing the performance. For instance, a unique front fascia and rear spoiler, plus an N-exclusive exterior color called Performance Blue. We’ll be sure to fill you in on more details as they become available, but we can honestly say that we cannot wait for the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N to make its way here to Cocoa Hyundai.
