2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Land Speed Record Concept Specs & Features

Hyundai always brings an incredible display to the annual SEMA Show each year, and this year is already proving to keep with that trend as Hyundai prepares for the event. This year, the Specialty Equipment Market Association auto show will take place from the 5th to the 8th of November at its usual location, the Las Vegas Convention Center. In preparing for the show, Hyundai engineering teams built two special concept vehicles and then attempted to break the land speed record for their respective categories.

While we don’t carry the NEXO FCEV here at Cocoa Hyundai, it di finish an impressive 106.160 mph run for the hydrogen fuel cell category. The second vehicle, however, was a specially outfitted 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. It finished with a speed of 164.669 in the gas-electric hybrid category. Blue and Red Hyundai LAFESTA Chinese Market Sedan Exteriors

What is the Hyundai LAFESTA?

If you’ve been searching the internet for Hyundai news, then you might’ve stumbled across a vehicle called the Hyundai LAFESTA. The LAFESTA is a sporty sedan that was built with younger generations of drivers in mind, and certainly took Hyundai’s new design philosophy of “sensuous sportiness” seriously. Unfortunately, the Hyundai LAFESTA was built exclusively for the Chinese market so you won’t be seeing a LAFESTA here in North America. But we thought we’d still give you a peek at it so you can get a sense of what the future might hold for the brand as it continues to adopt the new design philosophy. Read the rest of this entry >>
