Summer Activities in Cocoa FL and the Surrounding Area

Even though we’re already halfway through, there is still plenty of time to get out and enjoy some summer activities here in Cocoa FL and the surrounding area. If you’re looking for some enjoyable things to do, check out our list below to find some you might like!

More Events in the Community Blue

Manatee Sanctuary Park

Located in Cape Canaveral, Manatee Sanctuary Park is an excellent outdoor place to visit if you’re looking for a peaceful way to spend a day this summer. The park officially takes up 10 acres along the Banana River, giving you plenty of space to explore with a day in the sun.

Sea Turtle Preservation Society

Keeping along the same theme, if turtles are more your thing than manatees, check out the Sea Turtle Preservation Society in Indialantic. You can volunteer to make your day of fun as rewarding as it is enjoyable, and/or join them on a guided hike through Loggerhead sea turtle nesting spots.

Jetty Park Beach & Campground

Turning away from animals a bit (though only a bit), you can check out one of the best beaches in the area at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral. Here you can go camping right along the beach and even go fishing along the coast. Electricity isn’t a worry, as the many different campsites offer hook-ups and there are even public showers and toilets to boot.

Kennedy Space Center

If that’s not far enough away from animals for you, maybe a trip to outer space will be. No summer in the Space Coast would be complete without a trip to the Kennedy Space Center. Both educating and fun, you’ll love taking a tour and experiencing all of the great exhibits at the center.

Hopefully, you’ve found one or two if not more things to do with the remaining summer months ahead of us from this list. Even if you didn’t, we hope you enjoy your time with your family no matter what activities you’re doing!
