“We understand the extreme uncertainty created by the coronavirus and the anxiety experience by our customers, and wanted to tap into Hyundai’s legacy of having people’s back. Bringing back the job loss protection program in this unprecedented time will allow our customers to have one less thing to worry about if something unexpected happens to their employment status.”

What is Assurance Job Loss Protection?
The program in question is a way to protect shoppers in the event that they lose their job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Car buyers who purchase or lease their vehicle through Hyundai Capital between the dates of March 14th and April 30th, 2020 can gain the benefits of the reinstated program. If you meet these criteria and lose your job, Hyundai will make up to six months of payments for you. In addition, upon request, Hyundai will defer payments for 90 days on select models, including the Santa Fe, Tucson, Elantra, Elantra GT, Kona, Venue and Accent.
We want to help make things better in any way we can. So in response to recent world events, we’re deferring payments on select new Hyundai models for 90 days, and we will cover your payments for up to 6 months should you lose your job this year due to COVID-19. #HyundaiAssurance— Hyundai USA (@Hyundai) March 16, 2020
Job Loss Protection was originally introduced in January of 2009 in response to the financial crisis, but we’re glad Hyundai is now able to bring back the program to provide relief to those impacted by the coronavirus. If you need help, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, we’d be happy to.
