When it comes to the subcompact sedan segment, things have begun to heat up over the past few years. More and more drivers are beginning to get behind the wheels of small cars because of their lightweight maneuverability and surprisingly stylish designs. We wanted to show you exactly why we think our subcompact sedan is a better option than one of its biggest competitors, so we went ahead and compared the 2018 Hyundai Accent vs 2018 Nissan Versa.
As you can tell via one glance at the table above, each vehicle has its advantages but one has a few more than the other. We’ll work our way through the table row by row so that you can understand each, starting with the first row which displays horsepower. 21 might not sound like a big number, but if you look at the actual numbers… 21 is nearly 20% of the Nissan Versa’s overall horsepower rating. So, an advantage of 21 HP is a pretty big deal. Same goes for the 12 pound-feet advantage in torque that the Accent has overs its Nissan competitor.
Vehicle width might not sound that important, especially considering you’re talking about inches. But the fact that the Accent is 1.4 inches wider than the Nissan Versa – combined with the disadvantage we’re going to look at in the next row, you’re likely going to have a bit more passenger space in the Accent than the Versa. That means you and your passengers are going to be more comfortable piling into an Accent than into a Versa. As for the disadvantage we spoke of, the Accent gives up 1.2 cu. ft. of cargo space. That means the Versa is piling more space into its cargo area than its passenger space, hence the deduction we made in the previous row.
If you think that the 2018 Accent sounds like the right vehicle for you, be sure to schedule a test drive either right here on our website or by giving us a call at the sales desk.
