For the purpose of this comparison, we looked at the Sport trim level for both the Elantra GT and Civic Hatchback, wanting to make sure we were analyzing the sportiest possible version of each. Turns out, the Civic Hatchback’s Sport trim level just isn’t enough to compete with the high-performance Elantra GT.

The first two rows of the table analyze different power specifications, the first and more important being horsepower.
