2018 Hyundai Elantra GT vs 2018 Kia Forte5
This year Hyundai completely renovated their sporty hatchback, the Elantra GT. As if the compact sedan didn’t already have enough to offer, they made it look and operate even better than previous iterations. But it has plenty of competition in the compact hatchback segment, so we thought we’d see how it measures up to another of the biggest-named models in the class by pitting the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT vs 2018 Kia Forte5.
Aesthetically, the Forte5 has nothing on the Elantra GT in our opinion, at least not if you’re looking for a sporty vehicle. But in terms of performance, the two vehicles are quite comparable. We’ve put together some of the most pertinent details regarding the two vehicles into the table below, give it a glance and then read on for an analysis!

Advantages of the 2018 Elantra GT
As you can see, we weren’t joking when we said the two vehicles are similar to one another. The first two rows analyze performance, horsepower and torque respectively, but each hatchback sedan’s specification matches the other with 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The first advantage doesn’t show up until the third row, and it hardly even classifies as an advantage as the Elantra GT simply gets one extra mile to the gallon.
While that might save you a few pennies over time, the true advantage comes in the fourth row where we looked at cargo capacity. How much space you have for cargo is obviously an important aspect of a hatchback sedan, and the Elantra GT offers room for an extra 1.7 cubic feet of luggage, groceries, or whatever you need to bring along. If you think you might be interested in a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT of your own, be sure to schedule a test drive and come give the advantages a look for yourself.
