By now, you’ve likely heard about the changes to the Santa Fe lineup of vehicles. The vehicle that was formerly known as the Santa Fe Sport is dropping the “Sport” from its name and becoming simply the Santa Fe. That means something needed to be done about the vehicle that used to have the simple Santa Fe nameplate, which brings us to the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL in Cocoa FL. However, the only things that’s really new about the model is its name, as it’s a carryover for the 2019 model year.
While the former Santa Fe Sport (now just Santa Fe) was redesigned for the 2019 model year, entering its fourth generation as a vehicle, the new Santa Fe XL wasn’t. We imagine it might undergo an overhaul next year to match with the new fourth generation design, but that’s only speculation at this point.
Regardless, there were a few changes for the Santa Fe XL despite not having a major overhaul. While a majority of the specs & features found in the crossover were carried over from the previous iteration, there are a few new things. One difference is that the available packaging options have been discontinued for the new model year, while the other is that the AVN 5.0 has been added whereas it wasn’t available last year. The system is available with an 8” display audio screen, navigation, mixed AM/FM, SiriusXM, HD Radio Traffic and more, including a faster processor than previous versions.
While nothing else, aside from the name of course, has changed for the new model year, we’re still stoked about its arrival. It’s a three-row crossover, offering more space for passengers than its smaller counterpart. It’s packed with family-friendly features and content, making it the ultimate road trip ride or the perfect vehicle to take the kids to an outing in town.
