2020 Hyundai Tucson vs 2020 Toyota RAV4
As the crossover utility vehicle class continues to grow, more and more models are introduced to the market. While the midsize crossover segment is probably still the steepest, the subcompact segment continues to grow at a rapid pace, and the compact crossover class might already be giving it a run for its money thanks to major entries like the 2020 Hyundai Tucson and Toyota RAV4.
We wanted to see how these two juggernauts fare against one another, so we decided to compare them to each other in a side-by-side comparison. The RAV4 may have an edge in experience, having been introduced in 1994, ten years prior to the Hyundai Tucson, but the Hyundai lineup as a whole has undergone a lot of major enhancements over the past few years.

Advantages of the 2020 Tucson
In terms of specifications, it’s difficult to compete with the Toyota RAV4. It is a great machine that offers impressive specs across the spectrum. The biggest advantage that the Tucson has in that regard is space, as its cabin offers 3.3 cubic feet of extra room for you and your passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in. Even still, the Tucson is ranked higher than the RAV4 by several trusted publishers and sources time and again thanks to a lot of its intangibles.
For instance, in the third row we’ve highlighted the fact that the Tucson is available with America’s Best Warranty, which Hyundai offers on all of its vehicles. The Tucson offers a 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty, which certainly trumps the RAV4 model’s 3-year, 36,000-mile option. Both crossovers offer impressive advanced safety technology suites, but is Hyundai SmartSense or Toyota Safety Sense better? That determination might be up to you, but the Hyundai Tucson features everything from Forwa5rd Collision-Avoidance Assist to Driver Attention Warning as standard technologies.
