2020 Hyundai Venue vs 2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback
At the point in time in which this page is being written, official specifications for the brand-new Hyundai Venue mini-crossover are still sparse. But we wanted to get a jump start on showing you just how incredible the newest utility vehicle on the lineup is, so we thought we’d see how it compares to another vehicle anyways. When looking through the Toyota lineup for a worthy competitor, we realized the closes vehicle to it would be the all-new Yaris Hatchback, despite it being a subcompact hatchback sedan rather than a mini-crossover. So, we thought we’d see what happens when we pit the 2020 Hyundai Venue vs 2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback regardless.
The table above takes a look at some of the confirmed and estimated specifications for each vehicle. Unfortunately, the Environmental Protection Agency has not yet released their official fuel economy rating estimates, so the numbers in this table were estimated by the automakers themselves. Additionally, the Venue has not yet released power ratings. But with a bit of sleuthing, we realized that the Hyundai Venue’s 1.6L engine is very similar to one utilized in another vehicle on the lineup, so we predict that the Venue will generate at least as much horsepower as that vehicle which – which is 24 HP more than the Yaris Hatchback can generate.
Unfortunately, the second row does show that the Yaris Hatchback will achieve greater combined fuel economy if each brand’s estimates are accurate. 7 miles per gallon is a pretty hefty advantage, but it makes sense when you think about the sedan/crossover difference. As does the third row, which shows the Venue offering 2.8 cubic feet of extra space behind its rear row of seats to fill with luggage or other cargo.
We through in the information in the fourth row just to show that these two vehicles do belong in a comparison with one another, because despite the Venue being a crossover it is actually 2.7 inches shorter than the Yaris Hatchback sedan. If you’d prefer a tiny SUV to a small sedan, then give us a call to stay up to date with information on the brand-new Hyundai Venue.
