2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Cocoa FL

In case you’ve forgotten, the 2020 model year saw the introduction of an all-new Hyundai Sonata. Several months later – in fact, all the way in February of the calendar year 2020 – Hyundai introduced the updated version of its hybrid counterpart, the Sonata Hybrid. Now one year removed from that massive overhaul, the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is available right here in Cocoa FL. We thought we’d just rehash a few of the highlights from last year’s redesign before diving into the hybrid powertrain to refresh your memory on its performance and efficiency. Speaking of efficiency, two of those highlights are that the Sonata Hybrid Blue trim level delivers best-in-class highway and combined fuel economy ratings. Some other highlights include the available Hyundai Digital Key, segment-leading legroom and headroom in the front seat, a host of unique, eco-friendly design cues that improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics and, of course, Active Shift Control technology.

That’s not even mentioning one of the most exciting features, which we’ll touch on right after talking about the powertrain. Underpinning the 2021 Sonata Hybrid is the combination of a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and a 39-kW electric motor. These two things pair together so well that the vehicle can deliver 192 horsepower despite achieving its incredible fuel economy ratings. The SEL and Limited trims get 45/51/47 miles per gallon through the city, on the highway and combined, respectively. The Blue trim, as mentioned, boosts those numbers to 50/54/52, respectively. Those ratings mean that the Blue trim can travel up to 686 miles on a single tank.

Now, we would be remiss not to mention the Solar Roof System, which converts solar energy to charge the 12-volt and hybrid batteries. This increases the vehicle’s mileage by 2 miles per day, which means you get about 700 miles of free driving per year. That’s pretty incredible.
