While they’ve never been quite as popular here in America as they are over in Europe, hot hatches are becoming increasingly popular year after year. Next year, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT in Cocoa FL will be completely redesigned and updated for the new model year. While we don’t know every little detail about the new sporty hatchback, we actually do have quite a few preliminary specification and features, so we thought we’d dive into those to give you an early idea of what the vehicle will offer.
We filled the table just above with a few of the highlighted specs and features that we’re excited about, but we thought we’d dive a bit deeper than that into some of the other things that already confirmed; like safety, for instance. The Elantra GT is outfitted with a host of great safety features, from more traditional things like airbags and regular technologies, to more advanced driver-assistive features.
Some of the more traditional features that ensure you and your passengers’ safety each time you hit the road include airbags: advanced dual front airbags with an Occupant Classification System installed, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, roof-mounted side-curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. Others are features like Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill-start Assist Control, ABS and a TPMS.
As for the driver-assistive safety features, they include Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Smart Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, High Beam Assist and Driver Attention Alert. Of course, the upcoming 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT will have much more to offer than just safety features, so if you’d like to learn more about the upcoming hot hatch be sure reach out to us.
