Said vehicle will be redesigned as it enters its eighth generation, and the all-new Sonata will be making its debut already next month at the New York International Auto Show. The short answer is yes! Key technology has improved leaps and bound in recent years, to the point where many key fobs aren’t even an actual key anymore. They’re just a fob that tells your vehicle’s electronics that you’re approaching the vehicle or that you’re inside it, automatically unlocking the doors or allowing you to start the engine with the push of a button. Some companies have taken it a step further, creating a smartphone app that lets you digitally do things through your phone no matter where you are, but now Hyundai looks to do away with the key fob entirely, switching completely to a digital key that’s currently in development.
